To the editor: What is happening in the center of Los Angeles is not just for what is happening in the center of Los Angeles (“Central City Assn. He says that companies need help to recover from raids and rates.” July 16).
Two key reasons why people from other places in the region do not go there: the available public transport feels insecure and unpleasant (and that puts it well), and driving there from just 10 miles away can often take up to two hours. In short, it is not a small effort to get there first.
