Letters to the Editor: Clintons Shouldn't Be Top Priority in House Epstein Investigation

to the editor: The House Oversight Committee headed by Republican James Comer has spent a lot of time and energy trying to get Bill and Hillary Clinton to testify (“Clintons finalize deal to testify in House Epstein investigation, bowing to threat of contempt vote” February 3). Comer even threatened a contempt of Congress vote for failing to comply with subpoenas to appear before the committee.

If the Clintons are going to be charged with crimes related to Jeffrey Epstein, then let the Justice Department press charges. Committee time would be better spent subpoenaing Justice Department chief Atty. General Pam Bondi, for failing to submit Congressionally ordered Epstein files on time, without revealing the identities of the victims and with explanations from all newsrooms and million of retained files. Once the House committee has digested all the millions of records, then it might have a clearer reason to subpoena witnesses other than the Clintons.
