LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: A 'serious concern' with a possible career of the Hilda Solis Congress

To the editor: In the light of the news that the County Supervisor, Hilda Solis, intends to run for Congress if California creates a new district, it is important to highlight a serious concern (“You can get a new seat in Congress. Is it already reserved?” August 21).

Solis has a distinguished public service career at local, state and federal level, and I admire his many achievements. At the same time, it now has its name in a wide range of facilities financed by taxpayers throughout the Los Angeles County: two schools in East La, a park in Baldwin Park, the new Hilda L. Solis aquatic center in West Puente Valley and even the Hilda L. Solis Care First Village for people who experience Homenta.

The schools, the park, the development of the pool and housing are community resources aimed at serving residents, not to promote the political brand of any official. If Solis is considering another career for the position, it can be time for his name from these facilities to eliminate and eliminate the advantage of incumbency that echoes the style of Donald Trump brand everything with his name.
