Kristi Noem killing her dog wasn't “difficult.” He was lazy and selfish.

To the editor: So South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem is proud that she shot her dog. (“The women of Trump's Republican Party try to answer the question: Who is the most sexist?” Opinion, May 1)

What's really scary here is if she is proud of this incident, what kind of behavior is she displaying? No proud of? Calling her a sociopath really isn't fair to sociopaths. My money says there's more to this story.

This is a cruel and ruthless person who should not be allowed near dogs or voters.

To the editor: Noem said the killing of the playful dog she couldn't be bothered to train, or even give away, shows she can make tough decisions.

No, it shows that you can make selfish, lazy and convenient decisions without taking into account the interests of others.

Would you just drop a bomb instead of taking the time to negotiate with another country?

To the editor: The governor of South Dakota personally executed his 14-month-old dog because the animal was “untamable” along with a harmless farm animal because it was: “nasty and bad.” He called these killings “difficult decisions.”

Yes, I get it, there are clearly worse things happening in the world today, but I wish I hadn't opened the newspaper that morning.
