to the editor: It has become quite obvious that Donald Trump sought the presidency to avoid going to jail and getting rich. The latest scandalous act is his intention to sue the federal government over previous Justice Department investigations into his misdeeds (“Trump is reportedly seeking $230 million in damages from prior federal investigations.” October 21).
Of course, some of the top Justice Department lawyers tasked with resolving the claims defended Trump in the past. Honesty and integrity seem to have no place in this administration. I would use a stronger word to describe my feelings, but “disgusted” will do.

to the editor: Let me see if I have this right. President Trump is adding a 250 million dollar ballroom to the White House, but taxpayers should not worry, since he is using private donations and own funds to pay for it.
Now, the president apparently wants to use his own federal government bank account to claim $230 million in damages stemming from past FBI investigations. However, he says he would donate the money or use it to help pay for the ballroom.
What happened to his promise to end “waste, fraud and abuse” by the federal government? Oh, I know: maybe Trump can ask Argentina for a refund of the $20 billion What did your administration give to your government?

to the editor: From the Constitution of the United States, Article II: “The President shall receive, at the indicated Times, for his Services, a Compensation which shall neither increase nor diminish during the Period for which he shall have been elected, and shall not receive within that Period any other Emolument from the United States, or from any of them.”
It clearly says that in addition to his salary, Trump should No The US government will pay him anything else while he is in office. This is an absolute prohibition on any additional payments, regardless of the situation.
Any absurd compensation for his legal defense should wait to be requested after his presidency. The money accepted during his term is a violation of the Constitution and a basis for impeachment.
