To the editor: When my 30 -year -old son was a teenager, he and I went to Magic Mountain for a Russian mountain day. While we prepared to take a walk, the line was held and from the other side of the platform, a very shy James Gandolfini, along with two children, sat on the mountain“James Gandolfini [and Tony Soprano] I would have hated this biography, “ April 28). Then we sit in front, a couple of rows ahead of him. It was a wild trip and I could listen to Gandolfini behind us laugh and shout like a little boy. We saw it later a couple of times in the park being an unpretentious father, dressed in dad clothes and a wrinkled sailor hat. I really enjoyed it as an actor, but the image I have of him of that day is what I will always remember.
