A Detroit man allegedly shot and killed two people in a dormitory at the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs on Friday.
On Monday, Nicholas Jordan, a 25-year-old student enrolled at the university, was arrested on a murder warrant in the deaths of fellow student Samuel Knopp, 24, and Celie Montgomery, a 26-year-old mother of two. which was You're not a student.
What led to the fatal encounter remains a mystery, but Colorado Springs police said, “This was an isolated incident between people who knew each other,” but gave no further details. Jordan and Knopp were roommates, Colorado Springs Police Chief Adrian Vasquez told NBC News.

Gunshots were heard around 6 a.m. local time on Friday at a senior dormitory called Alpine Village Apartments in Colorado Springs.
Responding officers found Knopp and Montgomery dead inside the dormitory, prompting an hour-long campus lockdown while law enforcement searched for a possible active shooter.

Dispatch audio obtained by Fox News Digital revealed that first responders were unsure how stable the scene was or whether an armed man was still roaming the campus.
The investigation linked Jordan to the crime and police obtained an arrest warrant Friday night. Detectives searched for him over the weekend, but his name was not released until Monday night.
He remained at large for most of Monday and police remained silent about the shooting but reiterated that it was an “isolated event.”
The lack of information had students and parents nervous. Classes were canceled on Monday.
Shortly before 8 a.m. Monday, the Colorado Springs Police Department's Motor Vehicle Theft Unit spotted Jordan, police said on X (formerly Twitter).
A tactical team invaded the scene and arrested him without incident at 8:37 am. He was charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the El Paso County, Colorado, jail and is being held on $1 million bail, according to inmate records. .
