Judge Juan Merchán says the potential juror's social media post about the travel ban being illegal was acceptable, but also contained the language “lock him up.”
“This is a person who expressed…the desire that Donald Trump be locked up,” Merchan says, although he notes that it was a few years ago.
Merchan read the post: “OMG!! Trump lost his court battle over his illegal travel ban!!”
“If it all ended there, I really wouldn't have a big problem,” the judge said. “Then continue 'take him out' and 'lock him up'.”
Merchan said “everyone knows” there is a possible prison sentence for Trump if he is convicted, so they could “lock him up.”
