Trump assassination suspect laughs and smiles during first court appearance in Florida

The suspect in the second assassination attempt on former President Trump laughed and smiled before his first court appearance in Florida on Monday.

Ryan Wesley Routh, wearing a prison uniform and shackles on his wrists and ankles, walked into the courtroom and smiled and laughed about three or four times as he spoke to his court-appointed attorney before the hearing began, Fox News noted. No cameras were allowed in the federal courtroom for the arraignment on charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number.

Routh appeared fully focused and answered all of the judge's questions during the hearing that lasted about 10 minutes on Monday. He will be arraigned on Sept. 30.
