Crews are working to clean up a train derailment in Pennsylvania that caused several cars to land in the Lehigh River.
It happened Saturday morning in Lower Saucon Township in Northampton County, county and fire officials announced on Facebook. Photos show tank cars and boxes off the tracks.
“There are currently no evacuations, no injuries, and no leaks from any containers,” Northampton County said, asking people to stay away from the scene and allow first responders to do their work.
Northampton County Emergency Management, Lehigh County Hazardous Materials Company and Nancy Run Fire Company are on scene on Riverside Drive.

The train belongs to Norfolk Southern, Northampton County says. Company personnel are on site carrying out an evaluation.
Norfolk Southern suffered multiple derailments last year, one of the most notable in Ohio “when 38 cars of a 151-car train carrying hazardous materials derailed and another 12 caught fire,” CBS News Philadelphia reports.

A small diesel fuel leak has been contained and will be vacuumed, a Norfolk Southern spokesperson said. A car containing plastic pellets spilled “mainly on the ground” and will be cleaned up. A nearby road will be closed during clearing operations and the single-lane portion of Riverside Drive was affected as a result of the derailment.
A Norfolk Southern corporate fact sheet says the company “has the most extensive intermodal franchise in the East” and ships more than 2,900 commodities to its customers. The company also says it is “the largest metal rail shipper in North America.”
