Thorough storms cause land stops in Lax and other socal airports

Los Angeles International Airport was subject to a land stop on Monday afternoon due to possible thunderstorms, according to the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Meteorological Service.

The exits of several airports in the nearby states, including Phoenix, Denver and Salt Lake City, were based on a caution between 3:25 pm and 4:45 pm on Monday, showed a FAA site.

The probability of an extension of time was listed on average, or from 30% to 60%.

The NWS predicted a 30% probability of electric storms near Palmdale on Monday afternoon and a maximum of 98 degrees. The airports subject to the ground connection were those at a distance where the flights would pass over the area during a possible power storm.

The storms arrive in the middle of a wave of monzonic moisture and instability in the western United States, which has brought dangerous dry rays, great dust storms and rare summer rains in recent days.

Similar land stop at Long Beach airport and John Wayne airport expired at 4 pm, the FAA site showed.
