While artificial intelligence (AI) is playing a more important role than ever in Hollywood, award -winning actor Kelsey Grammer warns that it can be “dangerous.”

The author of “Karen: Brother remembers” opened about his growing concern for Ai Deepfakes and the possible blurred lines between reality and manipulation.

“What I am a bit sad is our prevalence these days to find so many, while trying to say Deepfakes,” he told Fox News Digital. “You know, those who say they are usually the ones who are really doing it. It's a very, very strange game.”

The images generated by AI, known as “Deepfakes”, often involve editing videos or photos of people so that they look like someone else using artificial intelligence.

While the “Fraser” star has recognized that AI is beneficial in some way, even in the field of medicine, Grammer shared his reservations about how the system can manufacture someone's identity in seconds.

Grammer warned: “But AI is still … I mean, I know they are working in AGI now, which is probably a different animal, so perhaps we should be more alarmed.”

AGI means artificial general intelligence: a hypothetical stage in the development of automatic learning in which an AI system can match or exceed the cognitive skills of human beings in any task, according to IBM.

Meanwhile, the “Cheers” star continued to express its concern about AI and integrity behind it.

“AI is never better than the people who scheduled it,” he added. “But, of course, now, it is self-teaching, and perhaps you will actually find a way to improve your skills beyond what human entry has been.”

As the Hollywood actor has spent most of his illustrious career delivering scripted lines with human depth, Grammer told Fox News Digital that he does not believe that AI can replicate that authenticity.

“I am still quite sure that it will never reflect the same spontaneity that is the human being. And thus see a human being, the true human being, will always be more interesting,” Grammer said.

“We have to return to a feeling of integrity and basically good manners.”
