The Senator of the Republican Party has a message for older people about Social Security and Medicare

EXCLUSIVE: Senator Marsha Blackburn, R-Ten., Applauds against the accusations of Democrats that Republicans are trying to cut the benefits of Social Security and Medicare for older people.

“The message for older people is really quite simple. We are going to strengthen Social Security. That is our goal. And one of the ways in which we are doing that is to align waste, fraud, abuse,” Digital News told Fox News News in an exclusive interview, saying that the Government Efficiency Department (Doge) has been an effective tool to do so.

The senator is promoting the first act of retirees, which would increase the income bar for someone to be asked to pay federal taxes on their social security payments.

“Now, there is also legislation that I have, and the president has talked a lot about this, and is eliminating a federal tax for income from social security benefits. And while we work in the tax package, he will see this in one of those reconciliation packages,” he said.

“The left and the main media continue to talk a lot about cutting social security, and we are not doing that,” he said. The Blackburn office is circulating a memorandum that highlights an appointment by President Donald Trump in “Sunday Morning Futures” last month saying that “Social Security is not going to play, Medicare, Medicaid. Now, we will get fraud from there.”

“What we are doing is strengthening. We are not cutting. What we are doing is making sure that people who disappoint the system, the people who abuse the system will no longer be able to do it. The people who have paid for Social Security deserve to obtain each penny that are online to receive as a benefit, and we want to make sure that that happens,” said the Republican.

Blackburn also pointed to the state of California, which made a state law in 2024 provided Medicaid, known in the state as a medi-Cal, illegal immigrants. The program is now partially blaming that the State costs almost $ 3.5 billion per budget for Medi-Cal, and the governor's office has had to ask for billions in loans to cover the costs.

“Therefore, everything is taxpayers' money, and when you hear from a State like California that decided, it made a conscious decision, a very intentional decision, who wanted to provide medical care for those who illegally entered the country, and wanted taxpayers to pay for it.

The leader of the Senate minority, Chuck Schumer, and other Democrats in Congress, have given alarms on the cuts made to the Social Security Administration, including 7,000 dismissals of the staff.

“Do not be mistaken: what Elon Musk is doing in Social Security is reducing the benefits. And the Senate Republicans are standing with him. They blocked our amendments last week to protect Doge Social Security and revert the layoffs of Social Security and office closures,” Schumer tweeted on Monday.

However, Elon Musk said to reduce the benefits for the people who really take them is not the case.

“Schumer's social networks account is lying,” Musk said in response to Schumer's post on Tuesday.
