The chaotic images were captured on Saturday night at the Rose Bowl stadium of a brutally hitting a woman in the stands during a Rüfüs du Sol concert. Other concerts attending the concerts expressed shock by the incident, and some attendees said they were worried about the control of crowds and security measures in the program with exhausted entries.
The video, shared by the news platform of the Festival Owl festival, shows a man who calls a woman to the ground and throws blows repeatedly while other attendees try to remove it.
“This man hit me on the face, knocking out and causing significant bleeding, while he continued attacking our group,” the woman wrote in a message shared by Festive Owl. She is asking for the public to identify the man after the attack, which took place in section 12-H, row 20 in the place.
The victim said the man stirred after a drink was accidentally spilled on him. According to the woman, he shouted that the spill was intentional and assaulted before returning 30 minutes later screaming and threatening violence.
“I tried to calm the situation and apologized again, and the next thing I remember woke up in a medical tent an hour later and lost the whole show,” the woman wrote.
The Australian electronic music trio said in a shared statement on social networks on Monday night that they were disconsolate when listening to the act of violence that took place during the opening ceremony of its program. They encouraged anyone with information about the incident to contact the Pasadena Police Department.
“This type of behavior is completely unacceptable anywhere and the fact that this happened in one of our shows was devastating to listen,” the group wrote. “The Local Police is actively investigating the situation.”
The organizers of the concert were criticized on social networks, with fans complaining about long lines, the full place and poor control of the crowd, and some cite fears that they could have become a tragedy similar to the fatal crowd Crush in 2021 Astroworld.
“I was honestly out of control. It was a circus. It wasn't safe and I am very angry,” he identified a concert assistant as Derek told NBC4 News.
Christina Molina told Ktla News that the place was so full that people were seeing the show from the catwalk.
“I literally had people pressed against my back, all of them blocking the entire catwalk,” he told the station. “The crowd control was non -existent.”
