Matt Damon is one step closer to becoming an empty-nest dad.
The actor, 53, and his wife Luciana, 48, have four daughters. Their second daughter, Isabella, left home to go to college, something Damon calls a “major change.”
“We have a 26-year-old daughter, so we've been through this before, but it's still a big change for us and her sisters,” she told E! News this week.

“It's a different home, with one less person. So it's a big change.”
Isabella, 18, attends New York University's Gallatin School of Individualized Study, according to an Instagram post from her high school.
In May, when individually honoring each member of the graduating class, their school wrote: “Bella, your unique combination of observant wit, thoughtful prose, and unwavering self-confidence has left an indelible mark on our community. Your teachers have appreciated the depth and creativity you have brought to Word Flirt, and your peers have been inspired by your fearless individuality. Your confident embrace of your identity serves as a beacon of inspiration for us all.”
In July, Damon told E! News that the idea of her no longer being home was “too big.”

“It's a surreal time and the way it works in your life as you get older, because it feels like I was hugging her yesterday,” she explained.
“It's a different home, with one less person. So it's a big change.”
Isabella and her sisters, Alexia, 26 (Luciana's daughter from a previous relationship), Gia, 16, and Stella, 13, and Luciana accompanied Damon to the New York premiere of his film “The Instigators” earlier this summer in a rare public appearance by the entire family.
In one photo, Damon is seen holding his daughter Gia's hand as his wife leads him off the carpet. He looks back at his two older daughters, still partially in photo formation.
Isabella and her father seem to have a dopey relationship, and Damon has previously spoken about his apathy towards his job.

During a 2023 appearance on “Late Night with Seth Meyers“Damon told the talk show host about how Isabella liked to tease him.
“[She] “She likes to give me a hard time. And she’s very clear that she doesn’t want to see anything I’m in if she thinks it might be good,” he shared. “If I get bad reviews for something… that’s what she wants to see.”
Damon gave a hilarious example, admitting that he called his 2016 film, “The Great Wall,” “not very good.”
“My daughter was talking to one of her friends about this movie. 'My dad made this movie, 'The Wall.' And she kept calling it 'The Wall.' And finally I said, 'Isabella, that movie is called…The Great Wall.“And she said, 'Dad, there's nothing great about that movie,'” he said.
