A macabre teddy bear that seemed to be made of human skin and was found outside a Victorville service station during the weekend turned out to be a practical joke, and the alleged joker has been arrested, according to the authorities.
On Monday, Héctor Corona Villanueva was arrested under suspicion of submitting a report to the authorities of an emergency, knowing that he was false and planting intentionally evidence to present it as real, according to a press release from the department of the Sheriff of the San Bernardino County.
“Incidents like this take valuable emergency resources and put the public at risk, possibly delaying the response time to legitimate service calls,” according to the statement. “We would like to thank those who reported information that was useful during the investigation of this case.”
On Sunday at 12:07 PM, the agents of the Victorville Police Department responded to a call at the AMPM service station in Bear Valley Road, authorities said. The deputies found a teddy bear made of what looked like human skin. The Forensic of the San Bernardino County collected the bear and determined that he was not made of human remains.
South Carolina's artist Robert Kelly, by Dark Seed Creations, confirmed in a Facebook post that she was the creator of the bear and had sent one of them to an ETSY client in Victorville last week.
The Bears in the Facebook video published Kelly joined as a Frankenstein monster with “human skin” and dyed what seemed to be blood.
“No, I had no knowledge of the intentions of buyers or I was involved in a joke on the other side of the nation of me,” he wrote.
The bear is sold for $ 165 in the seller's ETSY store and is now exhausted.
