Former Green Bay Packers executive Andrew Brandt seemed surprised by the lack of decisions the Dallas Cowboys have made this offseason.
Brandt, who served as the Packers' vice president from 1999 to 2008, said Monday on OutKick's “Hot Mic” that he was surprised the Cowboys haven't re-signed Dak Prescott, which in turn could open up salary-cap space for the team to make offers to other crucial players.

“They can't do anything. Play with it, maybe give him a franchise contract next year or maybe pay him a fortune. Let him go, where he'll sign the biggest contract in free agency history, because players like him never get to free agency, or try to do something now,” he said of the Cowboys' options. “But the fact that they haven't done anything when they have Micah Parsons and CeeDee Lamb waiting for cap space to do something, the only way to get cap space is through Dak Prescott.”
Brandt said he believes the Cowboys will “let it go like this” with Prescott and is surprised the team hasn't parted ways with head coach Mike McCarthy after the divisional-round loss to the Packers.
Ultimately, the Cowboys appear to be in a “lame duck year,” he said.

Prescott has one year left. They let it go.” [Tony] Pollard is leaving. They signed Zeke Elliott, who is a one-year project.
“So I look at the Cowboys and I think, wow, this is a lame duck year, [it] “It just doesn't look like there will be any Dak Prescott next year. At this point, I'd be surprised if they signed him.”
Prescott, Lamb, Parsons, DeMarcus Lawrence, Zack Martin and Osa Odighizuwa could be among those set to become free agents once 2024 ends.
