Taylor Swift to miss Chiefs game for first time in 2024 season

Taylor Swift didn't appear to travel to Atlanta to watch Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Falcons in their Week 3 matchup on Sunday night.

Swift had been present for the Chiefs' first two games of the season. Both games resulted in victories and were played at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri. Swift was in a suite for both games in which the Chiefs stayed afloat to win.

On Sunday night, the Chiefs were on the road. Swift was present at the Chiefs' road game last season against the New York Jets, but the circumstances were much different back then. Swift also followed the Chiefs on their run to the Super Bowl and made it to Super Bowl 58 despite being on the road overseas.

Swift's absence was noticeable, as the pomp and circumstance of her entrance into Mercedes-Benz Stadium did not occur before kickoff.

Kelce has struggled to get into action on offense. In two games, he had four receptions for 39 yards.

He faced criticism from ESPN's Stephen A. Smith earlier in the week.

“I love my brother Travis Kelce so much, but yesterday, on a Sunday afternoon, we saw more Taylor Swift than Travis Kelce,” Smith said last week after the Chiefs' win over the Cincinnati Bengals. “That wasn't supposed to happen. We were supposed to see more Travis Kelce yesterday than her.”

“But that's not going to happen. You've got to get going, you've got 39 receiving yards in the first two games. Come on, football season is here. The honeymoon is over. Let's go about our business, okay?”
