Joshua Brocato, 34, was wanted by the Sheriff's office of the Tangipahoa parish on suspicion of fatally shooting his elderly parents, Priscilla and Marc Brocato, in his city of Amite in his southeast of Louisiana.

Brocato was arrested in Los Angeles a day after the Louisiana Sheriff's office announced that they were looking for him after a social assistance control at his parents' house. The authorities say that they found the bodies of their 66 -year -old mother inside the house and her 75 -year -old father on the property. Louisiana officials issued an arrest warrant for two first -degree murder positions.

In a press release, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's department said the agents arrested Brocato after making a traffic stop, after having noticed a Ford E-150 truck staked in the 5400 block of Fairfax Avenue in Los Angeles. The car “coincided with the description of a homicide vehicle sought from Louisiana,” the department said.

“During the course of the investigation of the deputies, they discovered that the suspicious brocato was in possession of body armor and several firearms loaded, including an assault rifle,” said the department.

Brocato probably fled to California within three days after the murders, the department said. Louisiana officials estimate that Brocato's parents died on March 31 or April 1. The Sheriff's Office of the Tangipahoa parish confirmed the arrest of Brocato in Los Angeles in a press release updated on Facebook.

“The reason for the crime is still unknown,” said the press release of the Sheriff's department of Los Angeles County. While it is not clear why Brocato fled to California, the department said that the Sheriff's office of the Tangipahoa parish had “alerted several agencies of application of the law in southern California.”

Brocato was also hired under suspicion of multiple crimes of weapons, including possession of an unregistered firearm and possession of an assault weapon, said the department of the Sheriff. Brocato was reserved at the King's Marine Station without bail and has a Tuesday court date, the department said.

Los Angeles officials are working with the Sheriff's Office of the Tangipahoa parish to transfer Brocato to Louisiana, according to the press release.
