The Los Angeles Police Department surrounded a Chatsworth house on Friday where an armed suspect rested through the pool after aiming at a shotgun in a police helicopter, authorities said.
The LAPD was sent to a house in the block 200,000 of Typical Street at 2:20 pm after a call on an assault with a suspect of mortal weapons, according to a spokesman for the department.
When the police arrived, the suspect aimed at a shotgun in a Lapd helicopter above and proceeded to go to bed next to a pool in the backyard of the house, said the spokesman. It is not clear if the shots were fired to the helicopter, he added.
The nearby residents were evacuated and the police continued surrounding the house from 4:30 pm, said the spokesman. A Swat team is also responding to the incident, he said.
The helicopter video captured by KTLA-TV showed the suspect lying down by the pool with two apparent shotguns that rest on a nearby table. The suspect seemed to breathe and make small movements with the head and legs.
The owners of the house do not know who the man is or where the weapons come from, according to Ktla's reports.
