NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg: “Shocked and dismayed by the shooting of Prime Minister Robert Fico. I wish you strength for a speedy recovery. “My thoughts are with Robert Fico, his loved ones and the people of Slovakia,” he said. in X.
The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen: “I strongly condemn the vile attack against Prime Minister Robert Fico. These acts of violence have no place in our society and undermine democracy, our most precious common good. My thoughts are with Prime Minister Fico and his family,” he said. in X.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky: “The attack on the Prime Minister of Slovakia, Robert Fico, is atrocious. We strongly condemn this act of violence against the head of government of our neighboring partner state. Every effort must be made to ensure that violence does not become the norm in any country, form or sphere. “We sincerely hope that Robert Fico recovers soon and we express our solidarity with the people of Slovakia,” Zelensky said. in a post on X.
Hungarian Prime Minister Victor Orbán: “I was deeply shocked by the heinous attack on my friend, Prime Minister Robert Fico. We pray for his health and speedy recovery! God bless him and his country! Orban wrote in a post.
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni: “I learned with deep shock the news of the cowardly attack on Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico. All my thoughts are with him, his family and the friendly Slovak people,” he said in a statement from his office.
The President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sánchez: “Horrified and outraged by the attack on the Slovak Prime Minister. Spain supports Robert Fico, his family and the Slovak people in this very difficult time. Nothing can ever justify violence,” Sánchez said in a post.
