The set of Alec Baldwin's “Rust” was in a “state of chaos” the day cinematographer Halyna Hutchins was fatally shot.

“Rust” crew member Ross Addiego testified Monday during Hannah Gutierrez-Reed's criminal trial that production was “moving at ridiculous speeds” to “complete a very ambitious schedule” on the Western's set. Santa Fe.

Gutierrez-Reed, the gunsmith, was charged with involuntary manslaughter and faces up to 18 months in prison and a $5,000 fine.

Additionally, Gutiérrez-Reed was also charged with tampering with evidence after allegedly delivering a bag of cocaine the day of the shooting. Jury selection began Wednesday and took a full day. Of 70 potential jurors, seven men and five women were selected.

“It seemed like we were always rushing and under pressure to finish and move on,” Addiego said.

To his knowledge, Addiego believed that Baldwin “was supposed to reveal to the camera the gun coming out of the holster” while filming the church scene.

“I think Alec had drawn once to audition what his action should be for Joel [Souza] and then he pulled it out again,” Addiego said. “And, um, it went off, and you know, instantly… I mean, a gun went off in a little wooden church. Then the concussion, the ringing in the ears, that moment of panic in everyone.

“I think the first person I made eye contact with was… was Halyna, who was clearly hurt by whatever that gunshot was. That noise we just heard,” he said through tears.

And actually, she was starting to blush, and I think I was holding her right side. “So I think Joel let out some kind of scream or made some noise that, you know, indicated that he was hurt too and I think my attention went to Joel because he was the closest to me.”

Addiego added:“I think I yelled that if you can't help us, get out of here and someone call 911.”

Baldwin has maintained that he did not pull the trigger of the gun that caused the death of Halyna Hutchins on October 21, 2021.

Special prosecutors have accused Gutierrez Reed of bringing live ammunition to set and using drugs in the days leading up to the fatal 2021 shooting, according to court documents obtained by Fox News Digital.
