Chris Hemsworth was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Thursday, May 23, 2024. At the ceremony, Robert Downey Jr. presented a roast in honor of his friend's new award.
Hemsworth and Downey Jr. starred together in several Marvel films, including the “Avengers” franchise. The two play Thor and Iron Man, respectively, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
After beginning his speech with words of admiration and enthusiasm for Hemsworth's 2024 film “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga,” he changed the subject.

“Now here comes the roast,” said Downey Jr. His roast was themed “The Avengers,” and the actor said he had reached out to other superhero stars and asked them to provide him with three words that describe Hemsworth.

Hemsworth's family, including his wife Elsa Pataky and their three children, were in the audience at the Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony.
During his own speech, Hemsworth gave a sweet shout-out to his wife, who is also in the new movie “Furiosa.”
“I want to thank my beautiful wife, who has been here my entire career, basically by my side, encouraging me and supporting me endlessly,” he said. “And it's not lost on me that she put aside her own dreams to support mine and, again, [I am] always indebted to you.”
“The fact [is] that nothing I do, none of these moments, these special occasions and events, nothing is special without you by my side. I love you.”
