Puppy! Orange County firefighters rescue puppy stuck in wall

A Garden Grove family had a scare on Mother's Day when their puppy went to explore an opening in a wall of their home, disappearing for two hours until Orange County firefighters came to the rescue.

On May 12, the Orange County Fire Authority responded to a call about the dog, Faye, who was stuck in a bathroom wall for two hours. The puppy had crawled into the bathroom wall through a small plumbing access door that led to the bathtub where she was trapped.

Faye's family had tried to convince her to get out of the crawlspace, but she wouldn't budge, according to the fire authority's post on X, formerly known as Twitter.

To reach Faye, fire crew members had to gently create a hole in the wall with a hammer, said Greg Barta, a fire authority spokesman.

According to a video shared on Post .

“The goal was to get the puppy out safely, effectively and efficiently, and they did that,” Barta said.

In Post X, the fire authority wrote: “According to the family, Faye is probably already planning her next prank. Who knows about her… maybe we'll see her again soon!

It is quite common for firefighters to receive calls requesting animal rescues.

“In fact, we even conduct large animal training to safely rescue animals like horses that are in precarious locations,” Barta said.
