The former president had barely begun to rally the crowd when five shots rang out and he fell, surrounded by Secret Service agents.
“And then the worst president in the history of our country took power. And look what happened to our country. Probably 20 million people [came in illegally]. And, you know, that graph is a little bit old… that graph is a couple of months old. And if you want to see something really sad, take a look at what happened…,” Trump said before the shots were heard.
As he was led away, with what appeared to be blood on his head, he raised his arms defiantly.
Trump was heard telling his security team, “Let me get my shoes,” as he was pulled to his feet and quickly removed from the stage.
The frantic scene captured rally-goers running away after gunshots were heard.
