Police are looking for a man trapped in a video hitting a dog on Long Beach. $ 5,000 reward offered

Police are looking for a man who was caught in videos by throwing and kicking a dog to the ground in Long Beach.

Animal Hope and Wellness published the Instagram video, which was recorded on Monday about 235 EAST 12th Street.

“The man in this video is severely abusing this poor puppy without mercy and must be found as soon as possible,” the group wrote in the subtitle. “All we can say is that man has a skateboard, so the other skaters in the area can identify who this is.”

In the video, the man lifts a dog from the floor next to the belt before hitting him to the ground and kicking the animal.

Long Beach's police department said he was investigating, but he hadn't said if someone had been arrested.

“Patrol officers have responded to the area and took an animal cruelty report, since the incident had not been previously reported to the department,” the department wrote in an X position on Monday. “Animal abuse is unacceptable and will not be tolerated in our community.”

People for the ethical treatment of animals said in a statement that the organization offers a reward of up to $ 5,000 for information that leads to the arrest of man in the video.

“This dog was violently attacked, and who knows what other abuse has not been caught by the camera,” said the senior vice president of Peta, Lisa Lange, in the statement. “Someone knows this man, and Peta urges anyone with information to be presented immediately, could save the life of the dog.”
