Peruvian illegal immigrant arrested in Virginia after kidnapping teen: police


A Peruvian illegal immigrant was arrested after allegedly kidnapping a high school student in Manassas, Virginia, as she walked to school, according to police.

The Manassas Police Department said Jesus Enrique Ramirez Cabrera, 23, was arrested Friday and charged with kidnapping, robbery, criminal mischief and petty theft.

Police received a call from a resident who said they located a child in distress near the intersection of Quarry Road and Zebedee Street.

When officers arrived, they learned that an unidentified man driving a red Jeep, possibly a Patriot or Commander, approached the teen as she walked to school on Clover Hill Road.

The girl said the suspect identified himself as a police officer and told her to get in the vehicle. He then allegedly got out of the vehicle, grabbed the teen by the arm, put her in the front passenger seat and drove away.

Once the suspect reached Quarry Road, the girl was able to exit the vehicle, she told police.

Police first reported they were looking for a Hispanic man in his 40s, with black hair and a beard.

After a two-day investigation, detectives identified the suspect and arrested Cabrera, 23.

He was taken to the Prince William County Adult Detention Center, where he was arraigned and held without bond.

Federal sources told Fox News that Cabrera is an illegal immigrant from Peru who was captured at the Arizona border in December and released into the United States.

Fox News Digital has reached out to ICE and the Manassas Police Department for further comment.

Police do not believe there are any other suspects involved in the incident with the teen and said there is no ongoing threat to the community.
