Heisman Trophy hopeful and Oklahoma State star running back Ollie Gordon was arrested Sunday for driving under the influence and speeding, authorities said.
Gordon, 20, was stopped on Interstate 35 near Moore, Oklahoma, early Sunday after a highway patrol trooper noticed a car swerving and traveling about 82 mph, KOCO-TV reported, citing a police report. The trooper wrote that he noticed “an odor associated with an alcoholic beverage” emanating from the vehicle.

According to the report, the football player told the officer he had not been drinking, but had been with friends who had. He refused to take a sobriety test and later admitted to consuming an alcoholic beverage.
Gordon also revealed he had two open containers of alcohol in his vehicle, the station reported. He was later taken to the Cleveland County Jail, and a breath sample later revealed he had a blood alcohol level of 0.11, which is above the legal limit for an adult under 21.
