At least six people were shot Monday, and a police officer was killed when an alleged armed man unleashed a flood of shots inside a Midtown Manhattan office building that houses Blackstone's investment firm and the NFL headquarters.

The video taken by a Fox 5 NY employee showed several officers who took a person, and other officers seemed to be attending to a person who threw on the ground. The media reported the number of persons murdered, citing sources of application of the law.

Two police officers were shot, including the one who died, sources told Fox News.

The gunman was armed with a rifle and opened fire for the first time in the lobby of the building on 52 and Park Avenue. He went to another floor and shot people there, fonts told Fox News, before getting on the 33rd floor and shooting himself.

A New York Police officer who worked in the building was one of the people's shots, the sources said. During chaos, people inside the building hid in different floors, kitchen and bathrooms.

The NYPD department officers and the Sheriff in Protection were seen with the weapons drawn, Fox New York said.

“New Yorkers: there is an active handle investigation that takes place in the city center at this time,” wrote the mayor of New York City, Eric Adams, in X. “Take the appropriate safety precautions if it is in neighborhood and does not leave if it is close to Park Avenue and East 51st Street.”

The officers were sweeping the building to see if a second shooter was present.

The city's emergency notification system told followers that they were waiting for traffic and public transport interruptions.
