Nick Saban for Vice President of the United States? A sportsbook is a card game.

President Biden announced Sunday that he will not seek reelection weeks after a disastrous debate raised concerns about his cognitive abilities. Biden endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic Party's presidential nominee to run against former President Trump in the election.

Speculation immediately arose over who Harris would choose as vice president. Candidates who would run alongside Harris include Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro; Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear; and North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper.

BetOnline.ag proposed another name: the legendary Alabama Crimson Tide football coach.

The online sportsbook said there was a 250-1 chance that Saban would be nominated. Saban's odds are as high as Oprah Winfrey's. The bookmaker had lower odds for George Clooney (100-1) and Michelle Obama (28-1).

Saban, 72, abruptly retired from his college football coaching job in January after winning seven national championships during his career. He will now serve as an analyst for ESPN's “College Gameday.”

There is no indication that Saban will enter the political arena. He endorsed Sen. Joe Manchin, IW., Va., when he ran for Senate as a Democrat in 2018. He called Manchin a friend in a political ad.
