The NFL Players Association has issued its opinion on Baltimore Ravens defensive lineman Kyle Van Noy's complaint about the Kansas City Chiefs' medical staff, which he called “super unprofessional” in treating his fractured orbital bone in Week 1.
Van Noy's injury occurred in the NFL season opener at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium, where the 33-year-old had to leave in the second half due to a facial fracture.
Later, on his “McCoy and Van Noy” podcast, the veteran defensive back said it took nearly a full quarter before the Chiefs' ophthalmologist could see him.

“I was disappointed in the way the Chiefs' training staff handled the situation,” he explained. “If you get hurt, especially if it's something that could be serious like mine was, you're supposed to trust the team's training staff and their doctors.”
NFLPA executive director Lloyd Howell visited the Ravens to see Van Noy on Thursday and called the situation “unfortunate.”

“I think it was an unfortunate situation that that didn't happen,” Howell said of the speed with which Van Noy was dealt with, according to ESPN. “Thank God for Kyle's situation.” [that] It wasn't worse, but here we are with the first game of the season; we have many more games to play. We can't allow that.”
Howell also added that the NFLPA “has conducted our investigation” and “we have informed the necessary parties on how we need to improve.”
According to Howell, under the collective bargaining agreement between the NFL and NFLPA, treatment of injured visiting team players is expected to be prompt.
It's worth noting that the Chiefs' coaching staff doesn't have a good reputation after Kansas City players expressed dissatisfaction with them in the league's annual player surveys.
The Chiefs' staff earned an “F” for its coaching staff, which was the worst grade in the league.
