NASCAR fans are hoping the rain stays away Monday afternoon into the evening as the stock car organization was forced to further delay its Xfinity Series race at Daytona.
Wet morning weather delayed the drying process at Daytona International Speedway and NASCAR announced that the United Rentals 300 will take place at 9 pm ET. The race was initially postponed until 11 a.m. ET.

The 300-mile event was initially scheduled for Saturday, but the weather didn't help. Xfinity Series rookie Jesse Love is on the pole for the race, which will take place under the Florida lights. Love will have Austin Hill at his side. Hill won last year's race.
The race can be seen on FS1.
Cole Custer is the defending Xfinity Series champion. He is set to start the race from 17th position.
The NASCAR Cup Series has also been affected by the weather.
The regular season was supposed to start Sunday afternoon, but rain delayed the race until 4 p.m. Monday. It was the first outright postponement of the Daytona 500 since 2012.

Spire Motorsports teammates Zane Smith and Carson Hocevar tried to make the most of it for the fans who spent money to see the race start on Sunday.
“I hate that the rain won today, but I'll try to make the most of it and meet some of you,” Smith wrote on “
Hocevar added: “We've been dealt an unfortunate hand as a sport, but it's probably the right decision. I feel bad for the fans who saved up for this trip and now can't stay.”
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will be the grand marshal of the event. Joey Logano has the pole.
