The latest episode of the Paramount+ drama “Landman” mocked ABC's “The View” as a show about “a bunch of pissed off millionaires” on Sunday.
“The Pirate Dinner”, the fifth episode of the show's second season, featured a conversation between Tommy Norris, played by Billy Bob Thornton, and his father TL, played by Sam Elliott. While they talk, Tommy suggests his father watch “The View” to pass the time. TL then asks Tommy what “The View” is.
“A bunch of pissed off millionaires, complaining about how much they hate millionaires, Trump, men, you, me and everyone else, they've got a bee up their ass. It's pretty funny,” Tommy said.

“Don't sound funny,” TL replied.
“Well, it's not a funny joke, it's like 'farting in church', you know what I mean?” Tommy said.
When TL adds that that doesn't sound funny either, Tommy adds, “Well, it depends on your proximity to the fart.”

“Landman,” an American rural drama created by Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace, follows the lives of the billionaire Norris family as they interact with powerful players in the oil rig industry in West Texas.
In 2024, a clip from the series went viral on X, in which Thornton's character attacked the use of renewable energy measures such as wind power.

“Do you have any idea how much diesel will have to be burned to mix that amount of concrete or make that steel and haul this shit up here and erect it with a 450-foot crane? Want to guess how much oil it takes to lubricate that damn thing? Or winterize it? In its 20-year lifespan, it won't offset the carbon footprint of its manufacturing. And don't get me started on the solar panels and lithium in your Tesla battery,” he said.
