The sisters of a mother of four children in northern California seek answers after her disappearance was recently declared a homicide.

Nikki Cheng Saelee-McCain was a four-year-old mother from Shasta County who disappeared on May 17, 2024. His disappearance has been reclassified as homicide by the Sheriff's office of the Shasta County.

In an emotional interview, Kaye Ford and Chloe Saelee opened to Fox News Digital about the heartbreaking disappearance of their older sister.

“When we initially had the feeling that I was missing, I knew that immediately in my heart was not right, and I knew that something bad had happened to him,” Saelee said.

Ford said that the family of northern California is extremely close, calling and sending text messages to each other almost daily. After his sister could not participate in the active group chats of the family, they knew something was wrong.

“We, as a family, knew it wasn't his fleeing or she simply did not communicate with the family,” Ford said. “We definitely knew that something had probably happened to him.

The last contact of Saelee-McCain with his family was on May 18, 2024, when he sent a text message to his family around 12:35 am after the message, he did not know again again. His vehicle, a 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche, was found abandoned on May 25, 2024 in the west of Tehama County. ​

“We are working very hard to apply the pressure,” Ford said. “The police have been working very diligently in the case. We do not see most of their work since much of their work is behind the scene.”
