The former open receiver of LSU Tigers, Kyren Lacy, was found dead with a “self -inflicted bullet wound” after a police persecution in Texas on Saturday night, authorities said.
The Harris County Sheriff's office said the agents received a call about a man, identified as Lacy, who was arguing with a family member when he shot a gun to the ground, according to Fox 26 Houston. The authorities learned that Lacy had fled the scene and launched a search after him.

The authorities said the agents tried to make a traffic stop in Lcy, but he led them to a car persecution that continued by miles. Lacy then crashed his vehicle in spring, according to the authorities.
The deputies who responded eliminated the LACY from the vehicle to stop him, but was found with a “self -inflicted gunshot wound” and was declared dead on the scene, said the Sheriff's office.
“Homicide detectives of the Harris County Sheriff and Crime Scene Units conducted an incident investigation,” reads a statement through Fox 26 Houston. “The preliminary information indicates that Lacy shot during the search and before the vehicle crashed. A gun from inside the vehicle was recovered. A review of the PCT body chamber.
“Once the homicide investigation of the Harris County Sheriff's office is completed, it will be sent to the Civil Rights Division of the Harris County District Prosecutor's Office for review, as is standard for any death that takes place during an arrest attempt.”

Lacy was 24 years old. Athletes from all over the sports world reacted to their death.
“We are sad to know the tragic death of the former soccer student of LSU Kyren Lacy,” LSU said in a statement to Fox News Digital. “Our thoughts and prayers are with their family and loved ones, as well as with their former colleagues and coaches affected by their death.”
The open receiver, which graduated in December and may have been a selection in the next NFL draft, was under investigation in Louisiana in relation to an accident in December that left a 78 -year -old man dead, authorities said in January.
He was accused of imprudently driving, accelerating and passing in an area not to pass, when the motorist deviated to avoid the Lacy and crashed into another vehicle.
He fled the accident scene without asking for help, said Louisiana State Police. A LACY arrest warrant was obtained for negligent homicide, serious crime of outrage and reckless operation of a vehicle.
According to the reports, a large jury was ready to listen to evidence in the case on Monday.

Lacy was transferred to LSU in 2022. He had his best season in 2024 when he had 58 trapped for 866 yards and nine touchdowns.
