Actor Jon Voight has criticized his daughter, actress and activist Angelina Jolie, for her stance on the war between Israel and Hamas, saying in a new interview that she has been “influenced by anti-Semitic people.”
Voight, a rarity as a Hollywood actor who supports the Republican Party, spoke about the conflict and his support for former President Trump in a new profile in Variety.
Voight is an outspoken supporter of Israel, speaking out most notably in the wake of Hamas's terror attack on the country on October 7. Jolie, by contrast, is a longtime refugee activist who has denounced Israel for the way it has conducted its war in Gaza.
Fox News Digital reached out to Jolie for comment but did not immediately receive a response. Variety noted in its report that she does not speak publicly about her father, but Voight has criticized Jolie's stance on the war between Israel and Hamas.

“She's been exposed to propaganda,” he told Variety. “She's been influenced by anti-Semitic people. Angie has a connection to the [United Nations]And he liked to speak out in favor of refugees, but these people are not refugees.”
In November, Jolie issued a statement on Israel's invasion of Gaza in which she accused the country of deliberately committing war crimes.
“This is a deliberate bombing of a trapped population with nowhere to flee,” Jolie wrote on Instagram three weeks into the conflict. “Gaza has been an open-air prison for nearly two decades and is fast becoming a mass grave. 40% of the dead are innocent children… Entire families are being murdered.”
Voight responded on social media.
Actor Jon Voight feels 'disappointed' by daughter Angelina Jolie's social media posts against Israel
“I am very disappointed that my daughter, like so many others, does not understand the honor of God, the truths of God. This is justice for the children of God in the Holy Land…” he wrote.
Voight repeatedly told Variety that he is proud of his daughter and what she has accomplished, but criticized her geopolitical views on the Middle East.
“I love my daughter, that's the first thing,” he said with tears in his eyes. “I'm happy when Angie is happy. When she's going through a hard time, I'm going through a hard time. When she's depressed, I'm depressed.”
“Angie, I think she hasn't been available for this information because in Hollywood people don't share this kind of stuff,” she added. “They are so wrong. They have no idea what's going on. It's a bubble.”

Voight believes, according to Variety, that the concept of a separate and distinct Palestinian state is an “anti-Semitic scam perpetuated by Arab countries” that “want to destroy Israel with the help of the UN.”
“I love my daughter. I don't want to fight with her,” he said. “But the fact is that I think she has been influenced by the UN. From the beginning, she has been terrible when it comes to human rights. They call it human rights, but it's simply an attack on Israel.”
Voight also spoke about his status as a Trump supporter and the assassination attempt against him earlier this month.
“Now, after this, maybe they'll see Jon Voight in a different light,” he said, referring to himself in the third person. “If Donald Trump reveals himself in this way, maybe they'll see a supporter like me in a different light.”
