Joey Lawrence is accused of having an extramarital affair just over a week after his wife, Samantha Cope, filed for divorce.
According to court documents obtained by Fox News Digital, Cope filed for divorce and cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for their split.
The divorce was filed on August 13, two months after their separation date, which was June 7, 2024, according to the court document. The split came two years after Lawrence and Cope tied the knot in May 2022.

Lawrence's rumored romance was reportedly a factor in the couple's split. The actor was reportedly in a relationship with his married co-star, Melina Alves. The two worked on the upcoming film, “Socked in for Christmas.”
“Joey met Melina Alves on the set of his movie, where she was a producer,” a source told People. “He then love-bombed her, just like he did with Samantha. He continued dating Melina even after Samantha found out and confronted him.”
Cope suggested they both go to therapy, but Lawrence apparently “fooled her counselor” and “prepared for dates with Melina while Sam watched, crying her eyes out,” the source alleged.

Alves' estranged husband reportedly filed for divorce just weeks after Cope filed paperwork to split from Lawrence.
Representatives for Lawrence, Cope and Alves did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment.

According to the divorce filing, Cope is seeking full physical custody of their 1-year-old daughter, Dylan, and to allow Lawrence to visit her at his discretion. Cope also asked to block the court's ability to award spousal support to either party.
“Samantha will have full physical custody of Dylan and will be able to visit Joe at her discretion. Once Dylan is 3 years old or older, Joe will have the option to stay with her for 2 nights at her home if he is not working and can facilitate visitation,” court documents stated.

“He will not care for her for long, extended periods until she is old enough to specifically request visitation… She is not to be in the presence of any non-family members while she is with Joe unless Samantha agrees.”
The couple welcomed their daughter in January 2023.
The “Masked Singer” star had previously filed for divorce from Chandie Lawrence after 15 years of marriage. They have two daughters, Charleston and Liberty.

Despite the divorce, Lawrence reposted a fan video to her Instagram Story on Friday that showed some of the actor's scenes from “Blossom,” “Brotherly Love,” “Gimme a Break!” and “Melissa and Joey.”
Before their split, Cope shared a cryptic message on social media.

The couple met in 2021 while filming Lifetime's “My Husband's Secret Brother.”
Lawrence's acting career spans more than four decades, as she first starred in commercials before breaking into television with guest appearances on “Diff'rent Strokes” and “Silver Spoons.”
