The audience erupted in laughter when a clip was shown of Biden slowly descending the short stairs of Air Force One.

The moment Biden touched down on solid ground in the video, Kimmel's studio audience applauded. “There we go,” Kimmel added, as he clutched his chest and expressed his relief.

Amidst deep sighs of relief, he continued, “It's okay. Every time I see him walk down a flight of stairs, I feel the same anxiety you feel when you see your child trying to catch a fly.”

He then went on to joke about Biden's latest attempts to relieve student loan debt in the United States. “Biden, by the way, just paid off another $1.2 billion in student loan debt,” he said to more applause.

He joked: “It's a huge number, especially for someone who went to university when tuition cost a sack of onions.”

Biden's frequent problems with stairs were highlighted earlier this week, when the president nearly tripped twice on the stairs of Air Force One.

The president fell three times climbing the plane stairs in 2021, and has fallen in other scenarios as well.

Last year, Biden collapsed while attending the Air Force Academy's 2023 graduation ceremony. In 2022, she shocked viewers when she fell off her bike while riding. Rehoboth BeachDelaware.

Biden's frequent lapses have led the US Secret Service and his other handlers to devise creative ways to prevent them.

One solution that emerged last summer was for Biden to enter Air Force One using the short stairs, although his most recent stumbles occurred on those short stairs.
