Former President Trump's running mate, Sen. JD Vance, R-Ohio, is criticizing Kamala Harris, accusing her of sending a letter to trans activist Dylan Mulvaney but never reaching out to the family of slain Georgia student Laken Riley.
“Border Czar Kamala Harris found time to write a letter to Dylan Mulvaney, but she didn't find time to say a single word about Laken Riley,” Vance wrote in a post on X. “I find it very strange that Kamala is so cold and heartless towards American children dying because of her open border policies.”
Vance posted a screenshot of a story posted to Mulvaney's Instagram story on March 23, which praised the trans activist for breaking barriers and inspiring young people around the world.
“Our administration stands with the LGBTQI+ community in the continued fight for true equity and equality and against hate and discrimination in all its forms,” the letter reads.
BORDER CZAR KAMALA HARRIS VISITS HOUSTON WEEKS AFTER JOCELYN NUNGARAY WAS ALLEGEDLY KILLED BY ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS
In February, 22-year-old Laken Riley was killed while jogging on dirt trails on the University of Georgia campus in Athens.
Jose Antonio Ibarraa 26-year-old Venezuelan illegal immigrant, was charged with Riley's murder. He has pleaded not guilty.
“Kamala has paid more attention to a progressive loser trans influencer than to Laken Riley. What strange priorities,” Donald Trump Jr. posted on X.
“Border czar” is an informal title that has been widely bestowed on Harris in 2021. When Biden appointed her to address the “root causes” of illegal immigration.
The Biden administration, however, has pushed back against categorizing Harris as the “border czar,” saying the vice president was never formally given that title.
FLASHBACK: HARRIS COMPARED ICE TO KKK, SAID IMAGES OF BORDER PATROL AGENTS 'EVOKE SLAVERY'
“We're going to debunk the false characterization of the vice president. She was not a border czar. And we're not the only ones. Independent fact-checkers have said the same thing: that that didn't exist, and that's not true,” White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre previously told Fox News' Peter Doocy when pressed about Harris's title.
This is not the first time Harris has been criticized for not supporting Americans killed by illegal immigrants.
Harris opted to travel to Houston, choosing to attend a dinner at a teachers' convention instead of visiting the grieving parents of 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray, who was raped and murdered, allegedly by two immigrants.
Nungaray was found strangled to death on June 17. Authorities identified the suspects as two Venezuelan nationals: Johan José Martínez-Rangel, 21, and Franklin José Peña Ramos, 26.
Authorities previously confirmed that the couple entered the United States illegally earlier this year.

Harris' visit did not include a visit to Nungaray's grieving parents, who since his death have called for a “safer country” and called for increased border security to prevent other families suffering the same fate.
“We need to stop burying our children,” Jocelyn's mother, Alexis Nungaray, said through tears on “Hannity.” “This is not right. We need to have more reinforcements when it comes to letting people in. This is not right.”
Texas Republican Governor Greg Abbott He sharply criticized Harris's visit to Houston, saying she “couldn't be bothered” to visit the southern border.

“Kamala Harris flew to Houston for a political rally, but couldn't be bothered to travel a few hundred more miles and see the damage she caused to our border,” Abbott wrote in a post in X“He refused to mention Jocelyn Nungaray, who was recently murdered by illegal immigrants in Houston.”
