Jamie Foxx required medical attention after being hit in the face with a glass while celebrating his birthday at Mr. Chow in Beverly Hills on Friday night.
“Someone at another table threw a glass at him and hit him in the mouth,” a spokesperson for the actor told The Times. “They had to give him stitches and he is recovering. “The police were called and the matter is now in the hands of the authorities.”
The Beverly Hills Police Department said it responded to a report of possible assault with a deadly weapon at the celebrity hotspot at 10:06 p.m. and determined it was unfounded.
“Instead, the incident involved a physical altercation between the parties,” a news release from the department said. “BHPD conducted a preliminary investigation and completed a report documenting the assault. “No arrests were made.”
It was unclear what sparked the incident. A call to Mr. Chow was not immediately returned.
On Saturday afternoon, a Beverly Hills Police Department spokesperson said officers had contacted Foxx's camp for more details about the actor.
