Hillary Clinton Calls GOP 'Political Brain Death' on Family Affordability

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Thursday accused the Republican Party of being “politically brain dead” on issues related to American families and affordability.

Clinton wrote in The New York Times that national Republicans (notably Vice President JD Vance and right-wing organizations) were obsessed with birth rates.

“They ignore the financial burdens that crush parents trying to provide a safe, healthy, middle-class life for their children. Their response is too often nostalgia and misogyny: If we could turn back the clock to a time when women didn't work (and didn't know their place), the economy would prosper and families would prosper. This is, substantively and politically, brain death,” she said.

Clinton proposed a “children's agenda” that included expanding a child tax credit model in more states, paid family leave nationwide, investments in early childhood care and education, protecting children's health care, and providing guidance in a rapidly changing digital world.

“Mr. Trump will not wake up tomorrow and care about all this. He believes American parents are raising their children in a new Golden Age, if he thinks about parents and children at all,” Clinton wrote.

Clinton urged Democrats to be prepared before November.

“Beyond the golden walls of Mar-a-Lago, many families are struggling. In November, they will look for candidates who will listen to them and lead on behalf of all our children. Democrats must be prepared. We know what works. We know how to help families. If we really want this election to be about affordability, then children must be front and center,” she continued.

“Hillary Clinton's favorite pastime for the past decade has been reminding everyone why she lost in 2016,” White House spokesman Kush Desai told Fox News Digital in a statement. “The Trump administration has done more for parents and would-be parents than any administration, from cutting prices on fertility drugs to expanding child tax credits to supporting school choice.”

Clinton testified in February at the House Oversight Committee's Jeffrey Epstein investigation in testimony that lasted about six hours.

After the testimony, he criticized Republicans.

Clinton told reporters she answered questions “repetitively, literally over and over again” after criticizing Republicans for holding a closed-door statement instead of a public hearing.
