Gutfeld: It took the death of a young woman for Biden to be 'forced' to visit the border

Happy Wednesday everyone. So tomorrow, both President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump will head to the Texas border to confront America's ongoing immigration crisis. The sad thing is that only one of them will know where he is. The other will think he is on a Delaware beach during Cinco de Mayo.

For Biden's part, this is only the second time he has visited the border during his presidency. The other time, he went to pick up a packet of Hunter brand baby powder. Of course, Trump has been to the border numerous times and it's obvious why, he's been talking about it for years. It took forever for everyone else to catch up. The truth is that Trump, that terrible knuckle-dragging vulgarian that our chattering classes love to hate, has proven once again that he has the pulse of America much better than his opponent, who at this point may not have a pulse. I know. Too far or not far enough. Sure, Trump is a billionaire, but in the end he's a guy who puts ketchup on his steaks. Joe puts ketchup on his pancakes thinking they are steaks. Trump cared about the border before it cooled down.

Now the Democrats are copying him. I'm willing to bet Biden will show up with an orange wig and Stormy Daniels on his arm. But unlike the elites, Trump has always known that the border is a big problem for most Americans, that an endless wave of immigrants who are less scrutinized than a Harvard president is not a dream, it's a nightmare. So, as we prepare for the showdown at the southern border, Trump has home field advantage because he got there first when he was patriotic and not political. And who is attacking now because he is a politician? Biden.

For Joe and his supporters, it took the death of a young woman before they were forced to book flights to El Paso. She's like all of us in bullying training, pretending to care. Meanwhile, the media accuses those who force the issue of taking over.

CNN: Republicans are obviously seizing on this horrible tragedy at the University of Georgia… They are seizing on this as an example of Biden's failure to protect the American people and secure the border.

NBC: Riley's death sparked a political storm. House Speaker John Burns indicates the Georgia House this week will take action on illegal immigration…

CNN: As if the initial events weren't horrific enough, or the sense of loss wasn't deep enough at this point, and all of this has been compounded by the revelation that the suspect was in this country illegally and the speed with which that fact became politicized.

You are so solemn. Well, are we taking advantage? Damn, we are. Why don't you capture Anderson, still hungover from the New Year's Eve shooting? A young woman's life was stolen, and as the arrest paperwork shows, in the most brutal way possible, this should not happen. The story is not that we are taking advantage of it. The media is missing it every time. The only way they react to real news is if we throw it back in their face or, in their words, if we take advantage of it, which is the new attack. And when they use that term, it means: Please stop doing it, you are humiliating us. And that's worse for them than missing the story. And stories like this keep coming.

This week in Maryland, an illegal was arrested in connection with the murder of a two-year-old boy. Last month, an illegal shooting of police officers here in New York. And in Louisiana, an illegal Honduran man was arrested for raping a 14-year-old girl at knifepoint. So I guess we'd better not take advantage of that. Remember how the AP said Lincoln Riley's murder was proof of the dangers of running alone? Maybe that's how they cover these stories too. That killing a child highlights the risk of having children. The murder of a police officer highlights the benefits of defunding. Teenage rape highlights the risk of puberty. It's all the same logic. It is trying to live in a free society that makes us guilty.

So yes, Democrats and the legacy media are on the ropes. Sure, you can all gather at the White House Correspondents' Dinner and laugh at Trump's hair, but don't you realize that his day is over? Legacy media is like a former star high school quarterback who now makes a living selling shoes. Except, unlike Al Bundy, his glory days were never glorious to begin with.

Today, those bastards no longer set the national agenda. You do? And as that crazy ex you always come back to has always done, Donald Trump. And it's not so much that the current border chaos proves that Trump was right all along. He proves that you, America, were right all along. No one ever voted for open borders and no party supports it. Trump was simply willing to listen. The fact is Biden's willful blindness on the border. To most Americans it seems far more vulgar than anything Trump has ever said about anything.

Now, if you remember, it was Trump who said in 2016 that we have some bad men here and we're going to get them out. That was what the left was willing to attack because it was: racist, xenophobic. Turns out it was common sense too. And like so many of his promises, he kept this one too, arresting members of MS-13 on Long Island. But Democrats still can't get over Trump's rhetoric, and he also puts pressure on the feelings of illegals. Here is the LIB Mayor of Athens, Georgia speaking today about the murder of Lake and Riley.

STUDENT SUSPECTED IN MURDER IN GEORGIA CONFIRMED AS ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT

MAYOR KELLY GIRTZ: I mean we focus our work here on Athens-Clarke County and the humanity of people, and part of everyone's humanity is the expectation of human dignity. While 2019 wasn't that long ago, you may remember the dynamic we were living in as a late teen in this country, where there was a president of the United States speaking in the vilest terms about foreign-born people and you had that notion . metastasizing.

How do you say clean your ass in English? Did the mayor forget that he was there to focus on the heinous murder of a young woman at the hands of someone who should not have been here in the first place? And all he could do was focus on Trump's “vilest terms” not long ago. **** you. Trump's words.

Trump's words may not always have been elegantly worded like that, but he is honest, accurate, and relevant to real American lives. And if polls are anything to go by, Americans want the guy who's been willing to take advantage all along, rather than the guy who needed bad poll numbers to finally wake him up from a drooling slumber.

So, as Hopalong Joe limps into town Thursday to try to fix a crisis he created and now blames Republicans, it's no surprise that many Texans are saying: Too little, too late, we need a new sheriff in town. And one with a six-gun in his holster, not a melted soda.
