Ghislaine Maxwell's lawyer says he loves “to represent the helpless”

The lawyer who represents Ghislaine Maxwell told Fox News Digital that he loves to “represent the helpless” while trying to ensure the freedom of accomplice of Jeffrey Epstein.

Maxwell was recently transferred from a federal prison center in Tallahassee, Florida, to a federal prison field in Bryan, Texas, his lawyer told Fox News Digital. Neither Maxwell's lawyer nor the prison office gave a reason for the move.

Maxwell's lawyer, David Oscar Markus, told Fox News Digital during a telephone interview on Friday that “people should not be so fast to judge and throw stones” while federal officials face criticism for the transfer of their client to a minimum security prison field.

“I would like to be able to respond to all critics about merits. We are simply not commenting at this time in the case for obvious reasons,” Markus said during the interview. “But when I can, I will have a lot to say about it.”

Maxwell currently celebrates a 20 -year sentence for his participation in Epstein's sexual crimes.

“I love what I do,” Markus said. “I love representing the helpless. You know, being a criminal defense lawyer is not for everyone, but it is one of the most rewarding and excellent works that exists, and I really enjoy what I do. So, you know, this case, like all my cases, it is an honor to help someone.”

Among the previous clients of Markus is the former mayor of Florida, Andrew Gillum, who received 34,000 votes of beating the governor of Florida, Ron Desantis, in the 2018 Governor elections. Gillum faced federal corruption charges, since the prosecutors alleged that the campaign cash was pocketed and took illegal gifts.

Federal prosecutors dismissed corruption charges after being acquitted by a position, with the jury hanging from the remaining positions.

Criminal Defense Lawyer Mark Eiglarsh, who is Markus's friend, says Maxwell's lawyer is “the total package.”
