A Georgia alligator was “arrested” and loaded into a police cruiser after making an unwanted appearance in a resident's driveway, video shows.
The Chatham County Police Department posted footage of the alligator “arrest” in a Facebook post on May 25. The incident took place near Savannah on Friday.
“When an unwanted visitor appeared in this neighborhood Thursday night, our Corporal Blackledge and our Corporal Stapleton took action,” police said in the Facebook post.
“Look how they captured the alligator, put it in the back of a patrol car and released it back into the wild.”

Body camera footage shows officers punching the alligator's mouth and restraining the reptile, before carrying it and placing it in the back of a police car. The reptile was later shown to be released into the wild.
Residents enjoyed the video and many residents wrote funny comments.
“Did you read him his rights?” one person joked.

“Poor alligator. I was in the back of one of those Explorers too,” another joked.
Other locals praised the officers for showing bravery in fighting the alligator.

“Thank you once again. You wear many hats and you wear them well,” wrote one Facebook user.
“The country boys are doing it,” said another comment.
