A debate is getting unearthed among Wikipedia editors about whether to eliminate Erika Kirk's profile page, wife of the murdered conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
Its Wikipedia entrance is currently blocked, and users cannot make changes, since editors argue that it fails the site notability standard and lacks significant independent coverage.
Erika didn't have an independent Wikipedia page before her husband's death. The editors indicated that the article was created on Thursday after the murder.

Although Erika did not have an important public profile in advance, she has been pushed to national care since Wednesday's tragedy. His emotional and challenging speech on Friday night attracted millions of viewers worldwide, and several important points of sale have outlined it.
In the speech, he promised that Turning Point USA would continue his tour of the this autumn campus. Her husband co -founded the conservative defense group in 2012.

A nominator, an editor who uses the “Epluribusunumyall” handle, wrote in the thread of deletion articles (AFD) that the profile must be extracted.
“The article was created after the murder of Charlie Kirk yesterday, but the coverage otherwise is of a limited nature (that is, her participation in beauty competitions) or inherited from her husband,” the user wrote.
Another editor supported that point of view, saying that Erika is not notable apart from being married to Charlie.
Many of the elimination arguments are based on the central policy of Wikipedia, saying that Erika does not meet the general notability guidelines, lacks significant independent coverage and should not inherit her husband's notoriety.

Wikipedia, which allows anyone to edit their items, often blocks high profile pages or disputed during heated debates. The entrance is currently blocked until September 18.
However, most of those who weigh have argued that their profile should be maintained, writing that there is a significant public interest in it now due to current holders.
“Wikipedia looks ridiculous with a banner at the top pointing out that this issue is the objective of eliminating,” a user wrote. “And you can't edit until September 18? Once again, ridiculous. He gave a speech on Friday night, two nights after the murder (covered only live by Fox) in which he declared with force his intentions of bringing the TPUSA movement forward. The clamps must be eliminated.”
Another echoed those feelings.
“This is ridiculous that it is remarkable. It is now notable, so it should now be included in Wiki,” the user wrote. “There are many outstanding people on Wiki who are far from being 'notable' as many would define it.”
Many maintenance votes are driven by the current public interest and their Miss Arizona victory in 2012, sometimes seen as weaker according to politics.

Although maintenance votes are the majority, the decision will finally depend on whether administrators believe there is enough independent and significant coverage to meet the bar. Politics eliminate the foundations carry weight.

Fox News Digital contacted Wikipedia to comment, but did not receive a time response for publication.
Wikipedia has often been criticized for leaning to the left. In 2022, Elon Musk criticized the site for contemplating the elimination of his entry into the investigation of “Twitter files”, while in 2020 the platform blocked a page on the laptop of Hunter Biden.
