The Los Angeles Dodgers seemed to have taken a breather on Sunday.
Shohei Ohtani will play in Game 3 of the World Series against the New York Yankees, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told ESPN.

Roberts said Ohtani was “in a great situation.”
Ohtani suffered a shoulder injury while attempting to steal second base in the seventh inning of the Dodgers' 4-2 victory against the Yankees in Game 2. Ohtani went limp and walked off the field toward the clubhouse clutching his shoulder. left.
Roberts gave an injury update Saturday night after the game.
“We'll do some testing sometime tonight or tomorrow and then we'll know more in the next few days,” Roberts said. “The strength was great and the range of motion was good, so we're encouraged.”
Ohtani is likely to be the National League MVP after the first 50-50 season in MLB history: hitting at least 50 home runs and stealing at least 50 bases.

The Dodgers just signed Ohtani last winter to a record 10-year, $700 million contract that had one of the most unusual pay structures in sports history, as Ohtani won't even be paid $680 million until he's done your contract.

Last year, Ohtani suffered an oblique injury in early September 2023, ending his season. He was already playing through an elbow ligament injury and ultimately underwent Tommy John surgery in mid-September.
