Rep. Jared Moskowitz, D-Fla., suggested former President Donald Trump should consider dropping out of the presidential race following his performance at Tuesday night's debate.
Moskowitz issued a statement Wednesday titled “Trump’s Ability to Continue Campaigning,” echoing sentiment directed at President Biden following his clash with Trump earlier this year.
“If we're being honest, former President Donald Trump's performance in last night's debate was disastrous and difficult to watch,” Moskowitz said.
“I think now is the time for the former president to have those difficult conversations about whether or not he should continue to be the Republican Party's nominee for president,” he continued. “For now, I want to give him the space to meet with his family and make that decision.”

Polls taken during the debate show that a majority of viewers believe Harris emerged victorious. A CNN poll of debate viewers found that 63% of respondents thought Harris had won at the end of the 90-minute debate, compared to 37% who thought Trump had.
But Trump's performance has not provoked the same widespread shock and concern among Republicans that emerged in the Democratic Party after Biden's performance in the July debate. That concern ultimately forced Biden to drop out of the race and endorse Harris.

“She wants it because she lost,” Trump replied. “I don't know. I have to think about it. But if she won the debate, I think maybe she shouldn't do it. Why should she do another debate?” She immediately said we wouldn't. I want another debate. “That's it… you know what happens when you're a boxer and you lose? You immediately want a new fight.”
