Creepy surveillance photos show missing TV doctor Michael Mosley on the day he disappeared

Two days after British television columnist and doctor Dr. Michael Mosley disappeared while on vacation in Greece, surveillance footage has emerged of him apparently taking a walk with an umbrella on the day he disappeared.

Mosley, 67, was last seen Wednesday. His wife, Dr. Clare Bailey, alerted authorities at night after he went for an afternoon walk along St. Nicholas Beach, near the village of Pedi on the island of Symi, and never returned, police officials said. The Symi coast guard, divers and patrol boats joined the search on Friday.

CCTV footage appeared to show Mosley had arrived on Pedi's main street less than half an hour after going for a walk, BBC News reported.

Officials had been searching the beach, but now do not believe Mosley had an accident while walking between there and Pedi, according to the BBC.

Police, firefighters, coast guard and volunteers searched for Mosley on and off the coast of the small mountainous island in the eastern Aegean, using a helicopter, drones and a rescue dog as temperatures reached 104 degrees Fahrenheit. .

Mosley was not carrying his cellphone when he disappeared, which has hampered search efforts.

“The image is now one of many we have of the British man in Pedi. There are others that clearly show him heading towards a path that would take him to the port city. They will help us narrow our search, but in no way solve this mystery,” said a senior Symi official, according to The Guardian.

He added: “We now know that he made it to the other side of the road, but in some ways the mystery has only deepened. Now we have to wonder where he went from there and whether he took another unexpected route.” [to the port town] Did you slip and fall? “We're still no closer to solving this.”

Before the photos emerged, Symi mayor Lefteris Papakalodoukas told Reuters: “He probably fell into the sea and was swept away, or something else has happened. It is impossible to be where the searches are being carried out. It is a small area and has been thoroughly searched.” “.

Police were also investigating reports that Mosley had spoken to locals mid-hike. The mayor later said witnesses claimed to have seen Mosley at Pedi after his walk.

Symi is sparsely populated, about 10 miles long and with 2,500 inhabitants. Its remote beaches, some of which can only be accessed by boat, were packed with sunbathing tourists on Friday.
