Colorado's Shedeur Sanders warns former teammate after critical comments

Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders and recent transfer Gavin Kuld had a bitter war of words on social media during the week.

Kuld was the Buffaloes' quarterback last season. He entered the transfer portal two weeks ago amid a recent wave of Deion Sanders recruits leaving the program. Following his decision to leave, Kuld suggested in an interview with “MagDogTV” that he was upset about how Shedeur Sanders used his NIL money.

Sanders seemed to find out about the interview and took shots at Kuld on social media.

“I learned that sometimes you have to take the high road. @GKuld I will forgive you just this once,” he wrote in a post on X.

He later appeared to attack the media, saying, “Just interview anyone who comes out of Colorado just to get a negative view of the program.”

Sanders had been targeting players who left the program after speaking with The Athletic last month.

Former Buffaloes defenseman Xavier Smith told The Athletic he didn't agree with the way Coach Prime handled the roster overhaul when he took over as head coach.

He told The Athletic that Sanders had told him he “should probably get to the portal” and didn't want him to “waste a year thinking I could earn a spot.”

“I was actually getting mad, like I had tears in my eyes. Because, bro, you didn't even try to get to know me,” Smith added.

Disputes on social media created a more chaotic situation around the show. Colorado won four games last season after starting the year with an upset victory over TCU.
