The Los Angeles Chargers began the 2025 NFL season as winners, knocking down the Kansas City Chiefs, 27-21, on Friday night in Brazil.

The Chiefs had won the previous seven clashes against their AFC West rival, but Justin Herbert and the Chargers finished that streak with almost perfect football in São Paulo.

The Chiefs lost a key player in the offensive only three plays in the game when Xavier Worthy collided with Travis Kelce and suffered a shoulder injury that knocked him out for the rest of the game.

He thought he thought to be a main objective for Mohamses, with Chief coach Andy Reid pointing out that he had a good plan for the second year receiver in this game.

Without him, the Chiefs collided in the offensive to start the game, but Herbert and the Chargers were locked from the beginning.

They reached a start of a seven played touchdown campaign crowned by a five-yard strike by Quentin Johnston to quickly put 7-0 in the last quarter.

Cameron Dicker would add his first field goal of the season to put on 10-0, while the chiefs hit their first three units.

All were field goals in the second quarter for both teams, but the most exciting was Harrison Butker by calling 59 yards house, just when time expired.

It was a fire drill for chiefs, since Noah Gray was not considered out of the limits, and the special equipment unit had to hurry in the field and break the ball with nine seconds in the first half.

After a firstly characteristic first half for Kansas City's offensive, they quickly straightened the ship with their first impulse of the second half. Mohomes led the way, going up 80 yards in 11 plays where it would be put in the scoring zone for the first touchdown of the Chiefs season.

Herbert and the Chargers responded with a 12 games trip that took almost eight minutes from the watch that resulted in a Keenan Allen Touchdown to put on 20-12.

The fourth quarter was the most exciting in this Brazilian fight, since Travis Kelce scored the first of the year when he left free for a 37 yards touchdown to catch and run. That did 20-18, since the Chiefs failed to convert their two-point attempt.

The whole impulse was with Kansas City, but once again, the Chargers responded against their divisional enemy. Herbert ran to his right on the 23 -yard line of Kansas City and launched a weapon pass to Johnston for his second touchdown of the game.

The 27-18 gap was needed in the middle of the last quarter, since Mahomes would launch a 49-yard pass in the race towards Marquise “Hollywood” Brown in the room and 7 to put the chiefs in the red zone. They had to settle for a field goal, but they were inside a touchdown and needed a defense stop.
